Track Continues Successful Spring Campaign

Thursday night in Williamsburg, VA a pair of distance runners competed in the 10,000 meter. After 25 laps around the track, freshman Kyle Hinson and sophomore Jack Mastandrea established a school record in the 10k and the top 2 times in the country for the event.

"Kyle and Jack ran together the entire race, working together lap by lap to push themselves to a great performance" mentioned Coach Hayman on their performance. "They started near last of 34 runners and moved up every mile to finish in 12th and 14th against strong competition. I am very proud of their patience and resilience in their debut 10k."

The rest of the team competed at High Point for the VertKlasse Meeting. The Hurricanes were productive, ending the meeting with 8 personal best marks.
