Louisburg College secured a remarkable 4-2 victory over 12th-ranked Patrick & Henry Community College.

The match began with an explosive start for Patrick & Henry, as Steve Carranza netted the opening goal just five minutes in, assisted by Scott Manning. The early lead seemed to bolster the Patriots? confidence, but Louisburg responded just before halftime. Anthony Rodr� found the equalizer in the 39th minute, courtesy of a setup from Jason Salinas, leveling the score at 1-1.

The second half saw a shift in momentum as Louisburg came out strong. Andreas Florin Olsso put the Hurricanes ahead in the 48th minute with a powerful unassisted strike, making it 2-1. However, Patrick & Henry wasn't done yet; Manning struck again in the 61st minute, tying the game at 2-2.

Determined to reclaim the lead, Louisburg surged forward. Olsso struck once more in the 71st minute, regaining the lead at 3-2 with another unassisted goal. As the match drew to a close, Gael Villegas sealed the victory with an unassisted goal in the 80th minute, pushing the score to 4-2.

Despite being outshot 22-7, Louisburg?s defense held firm, with goalkeeper Andre Chavez making crucial saves throughout the match, ending with a total of 11 saves. The team?s disciplined play, particularly in the face of adversity, was evident as they battled through several yellow cards, maintaining their composure to secure the win.

?This victory is huge for us,? said Louisburg coach Matt Mozensky after the match. ?The boys showed great character, especially after going down early. We stayed focused and executed our game plan effectively.?

Patrick & Henry, while disappointed with the result, showcased their offensive strength with notable performances from Carranza and Manning, each contributing significantly to the scoreboard.
