Hurricanes Go 3–1 at Walnut Creek Athletic Complex

Louisburg College softball turned in a strong weekend showing at Walnut Creek Athletic Complex in Raleigh, finishing 3–1 across four games against Lackawanna College, Gaston College, and Howard Community College.

The Hurricanes showcased timely power, aggressive baserunning, and depth in the circle while continuing to build momentum early in the season.


Saturday: Split Results

Louisburg 7, Lackawanna 0

The Hurricanes opened the weekend with a statement win, blanking Lackawanna 7–0.

Louisburg collected 11 hits and used patience at the plate, drawing six walks to create scoring opportunities. The Hurricanes hit two home runs in the contest and capitalized throughout the middle innings to pull away.

The pitching staff kept Lackawanna off the scoreboard despite eight hits allowed, stranding runners and controlling key moments to secure the shutout victory.


Gaston 5, Louisburg 0

In the second game Saturday, Louisburg ran into a strong pitching performance from Gaston College and fell 5–0.

Sarah Hess and Emily Clay each recorded two hits, while Aubre Moore added a base hit. The Hurricanes put the ball in play but were unable to string together timely hits to break through offensively.

In the circle, Magen Daniels, Caylee Stevens, and Reece Pickett combined to limit damage in stretches, but Gaston capitalized on key opportunities in the middle innings.


Sunday: Hurricanes Bounce Back

Louisburg 6, Howard CC 2

The Hurricanes responded Sunday morning with a 6–2 win over Howard Community College.

Louisburg jumped out early, plating three runs in the first inning to set the tone.

Allie Boone drove in two runs and added a double.
Reece Pickett connected on a home run and finished with an RBI.
Savannah Miller delivered two hits and two RBI.
Kennedy Linhardt added two hits and an RBI.

In the circle, Kaylie Cook delivered a complete-game performance, allowing just two runs (one earned) while striking out four to earn the win.


Louisburg 10, Howard CC 4

The Hurricanes capped the weekend with a 10–4 victory in the series finale.

Louisburg erupted for eight runs in the second inning to break the game open early.

Kennedy Linhardt led the charge with a 4-RBI performance, including an extra-base hit.
Marissa D'Antonio drove in two runs.
Allie Boone added two RBI.
Sarah Hess scored twice and drove in a run.
Reah Lee contributed an RBI and scored twice.

Louisburg drew six walks and consistently pressured the defense on the bases.

In the circle, Grace Arnold worked the first 4.2 innings before Caylee Stevens came on in relief to shut the door and secure the win.


Weekend Takeaways

The Hurricanes finished the four-game stretch 3–1, outscoring opponents 23–11 in their three victories. Louisburg showed offensive depth up and down the lineup while receiving steady contributions from multiple pitchers.

The aggressive baserunning and ability to put together big innings were key themes throughout the weekend.
