Softball Splits Doubleheader in Myrtle Beach

The Louisburg College softball team split a doubleheader Wednesday at the North Myrtle Beach Complex, falling to Danville Area Community College 6–2 before bouncing back with a strong 9–5 win over Glen Oaks Community College.

The Hurricanes showed resilience throughout the day, responding to a tough opening loss with an explosive offensive performance in the second game.


Game One: Danville Area CC 6, Louisburg 2

Louisburg was held to three hits in the opener as Danville Area Community College built an early lead and held on for the win.

Danville scored two runs in the first inning and added four more in the third to create separation.

The Hurricanes broke through in the fourth inning when Madisen Barringer delivered a clutch two-RBI single to bring home both Louisburg runs.

Allie Boone, Savannah Miller, and Barringer recorded the Hurricanes' three hits in the game.

In the circle, Reece Pickett started the game before Magen Daniels came on in relief and worked 4.2 innings, allowing just one run while helping keep Louisburg within striking distance.


Game Two: Louisburg 9, Glen Oaks CC 5

Louisburg responded with a big offensive effort in the second game, collecting 16 hits in a 9–5 victory.

The Hurricanes scored early and consistently, plating runs in five different innings to maintain control of the game.

Allie Boone led the offense with a huge performance, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI.

Reah Lee delivered the biggest swing of the day, blasting a home run and driving in three runs while adding a double.

Emily Clay continued her strong play with three hits and an RBI, while Savannah Miller and Sarah Hess each added two hits and drove in runs.

Louisburg also received contributions throughout the lineup, including two hits from Aubre Moore and a key hit from Leigh Anna Carter.

In the circle, Caylee Stevens went the distance, allowing five runs while navigating through 13 Glen Oaks hits to secure the win.
