Hurricanes Power Past PHCC With Second-Half Surge
Axton, V.A. — After a scoreless first half, the Louisburg College Hurricanes found their rhythm in the second, striking three times to secure a decisive win over Patrick & Henry Community College.
First Half
The opening 45 minutes were a battle of defenses. Freshman forward Jaden Hilliard (#11) generated multiple chances, including a breakaway and a strike down the middle, but the PHCC keeper was equal to the task. Sophomore goalkeeper Hayden Michalak (#1) was sharp at the other end, turning away several PHCC threats to keep the match level heading into halftime.
Second Half
Louisburg wasted little time after the break. With 42:54 left, Hilliard pounced on a loose ball in the box after PHCC failed to clear and buried the opener to put the Hurricanes in front.
The pressure continued, and with just under 24 minutes remaining, sophomore winger Boni Salinas (#17) doubled the lead with a composed finish.
Moments later, Hilliard forced another save, but the rebound fell to freshman striker Eriya Ndinayo (#9), who slotted it home in the 73rd minute (17:13 left) to make it 3–0.
PHCC tried to respond with a pair of late breakaways, but Michalak denied them again, preserving the clean sheet.
