Hurricanes Claim Region 10 Championship with 4–1 Win Over Wake Tech

LOUISBURG, N.C. – The Louisburg College men's soccer team capped off an undefeated season by capturing the Region 10 Championship with a 4–1 victory over Wake Tech on Saturday afternoon at home.

The Hurricanes came out attacking from the opening whistle, generating several early chances through forward Jaden Hilliard (Jacksonville, N.C./Croatan) and midfielder Samuel Schuler (Jacksonville, N.C./Life Academy). Their persistence paid off midway through the first half when Eriya Ndinayo (Raleigh, N.C./Enloe) broke through on a fast break, rounding the keeper to open the scoring.

Just two minutes later, Kevin Moran (Wilson, N.C./Fike) doubled the lead on another counterattack, giving Louisburg early control. The Hurricanes continued to pressure and extended the margin to 3–0 when Arata Tanaka (Tokyo, Japan/Seibogakuen) followed up a rebound from a saved shot by Ndinayo and finished into the back of the net.

Wake Tech managed to pull one back on a header off a free kick late in the first half, making it 3–1 at the break.

Louisburg's defense, anchored by goalkeeper Hayden Michalak (Lexington, N.C./Charlotte Soccer), held strong in the second half as he came up with several key saves to preserve the lead. The Hurricanes sealed the win in the closing minutes when Hilliard connected on a pass from Schuler to make it 4–1.

With the victory, Louisburg improves to 10-0-1 on the season and claims the Region 10 Championship.

The Hurricanes now advance to the District Tournament in Alabama, scheduled for October 31–November 1, where they'll compete for a berth in the NJCAA Division II Men's Soccer National Tournament.
